See our Happy Tails

February Adoption

We just got this wonderful update from Freeway's mom.  He went from being thrown out of a mowing car to being loved by a house full of woman.  He is in heaven!

Hi Carol,

I just wanted to give you an update on Freeway. He is living the large life here at the sorority house with all the girls. He was super shy at first but he LOVES that all the girls are here so he can get pets constantly. The girls have given him a new name which he took to right away- Max a Million. He comes to dinner with everyone and tears down the stairs leaving me behind to go see everyone....it is so cute...I may have to get a trainer to help me figure out a way to deal with the anxiety he has when he is left alone. He has a nice kennel and lots of bedding and toys but he just almost goes crazy when he knows I am leaving and he can't come. He is very good and does not damage anything but it breaks my heart to see him be so devastated. There is only about 6 total hours during the week I cannot be with him so it is not that much but I never want to see him worry... I may try doggie daycare while I am in class to see how he likes that...Otherwise he is the best dog ever and I could not be more lucky to have him....
Thanks so much
Laura Ash

Bailey with her new family, the Enoch's.  Mom, Dad and 3 month old sister.  Bailey is 3 months old and the girls will grow up together.

Jeep went to his forever home on February 7.  Where he has a very loving mom, dad and brother to play with.

Bella went to her forever home on 1-24.

Hi Carol,

I took a good picture of Bella and Violet the other day and thought I would sent it to you.  Bella is doing great.  The girls are inseparable which has helped with Bella's training because she copies everything Violet does.  She is such a joy!  We can't thank you enough for bringing her into our lives.

Much thanks,

Dana and Jason

Hi Carol,
> > Brandi (who we renamed as Millie Kate:)) is doing wonderful! She is the best dog ever! She is the sweetest little thing and of course so smart!:) Thank you, thank you, thank you for rescuing her mom and saving these puppies! I hope you got all of those puppies adopted out and can now sleep through the night!:) Millie usually only gets up once or twice in the night to do her business. And she likes to eat between 5 and 6 AM, so she's a morning dog!:)

                                                                                          Baby relaxes after Christmas  Dinner

Rosemary and family.  Rosemary's family had a dog reserved (they thought) at the SPCA in Cincinnati.  They went to pick it up two days before Christmas and it was gone.  We were happy that we were able to get Rosemary to them and she was under the christmas tree christmas morning for their three little girls.
Rosemary loves the girls and they love her.  An 8 year old carried her in for her spay appointment.  I asked her where she got such a pretty dog and she said "Santa Claus brought it for them."

January 23rd, 2010:  Heidi and Libby.  Libby just turned 16 and her family surprised her with Heidi.  Libby has wanted a dog for a long time.  But Heidi turned out to be the type of dog that the entire family loves.  The look on Libby's eyes was priceless when she found out that we brought Heidi there for her.

I wanted to let you know what a Sweetheart Molly is. She has already become part of our family. Zoey our 16 month old Shi-Poo has plenty of energy, Molly has no problem keeping up with her as they run around in the backyard. Thank you for being there for Molly while she waited for us to give her the forever home she deserves.         Thank you, again        Debbie Rose

November 20, 2009:
Carol,
Here are some pictures of Ollie (formerly known as Speedy) and his playmate, Tucker. My groomer and I got Ollie's facial hair under control today. The vet gave me a mild relaxer that seemed to calm him down quite a bit. Although he didn't like the grooming part at first, he finally gave in as long as I was holding him and sweet talking him.
He is such a little sweetheart. I am so glad you rescued him for me!! He and Tucker play like brothers but then Friday night Ollie had passed out on the couch and Tucker lay down right next to him and put his nose right on top of Ollie like a little protector.
Thank you again.

Gizmo and Nikko met, sniffed each other's butts and were friends.  I think Nikko thinks he is so funny - the way he zooms around.  I have attached a couple pictures Mike took outside this evening.  It was great meeting you and your husband.  Thanks again for allowing us to adopt Gizmo!

  Update 11-13-2009

Hi Carol,
Gizmo is running our home now and still loves his duck, even though the neck is broken.  We have bought him some balls and he likes them too.  We are having so much fun with him.  Thanks again.  You're welcome to come and see him anytime.
